Big winner of banana bonspiel is the NOFCC

A new sports event in Espanola will become an annual event.
Organizer Logan Emiry says the First Annual Curling Bananas Charity Bonspiel raised $1,300 for the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Families.
Held this past weekend, he was pleased to see 11 teams sign up and take part to support the agency and the Espanola Curling Club.
The teams were literally outfitted in bright banana outfits, which made the bonspiel unique.
He adds Team Sabourin from the Huntsville Curling Club won the spiel with a perfect 4-0 record.
With that success, Emiry adds the event will become an annual one.
