New plaza under construction in Elliot Lake

The City of Elliot Lake says the construction of a new plaza has begun.
Economic Development Manager Steve Antunes says the city sold the lot on Highway 108 a few years ago and the new property owners are now starting construction.
He says the development will be 22,000 square feet and will feature a mix of retail and hospitality businesses.
Antunes adds the development is expected to bring both tax revenue and jobs to the city and will service the shopping needs of the 25,000 people who fall in the retail catchment area.
He adds construction is expected to be completed by early 2028.
