Espanola is part of the United Way’s Keeping Seniors Warm Program and is looking for applicants in the local area.
United Way Centraide Northeast Ontario/Nord-est Executive Director Cory Roslyn says eligible participants from the Espanola/North Shore Corridor will be paired up with a volunteer for a shopping appointment to purchase winter necessities.
She says the agency is accepting referral applications for the program taking place on Tuesday, November 4th at Giant Tiger in Espanola.
Roslyn adds referring agencies, such as churches, support workers, group homes and more are encouraged to register low-income clients aged 55+ by visiting the website to register their applicants before October 17th.
She says applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
