Firefighters’ big winners following provincial Eagles convention

The Provincial Conference for the Fraternal Order of Eagles was held in Webbwood over three days last week.
The conference included the aeries, led by the men, and the auxiliaries, led by women, so separate AGMs, election of officers and goals for 2025-26 were held separately.
Provincial Aerie President Stephen MacFarlane says the organization will focus on feeding the hungry this year with providing funding to two public school programs, one in Sault Ste. Marie, the other in Toronto.
Provincial Auxiliary President Tammey Artuso says the organization has been and continues to be focused on raising funds for the Sables-Spanish Rivers Township Fire Department.
Capping off the gala dinner, the two presented a cheque for just over $7,300 to the fire department.
The funds will go toward the purchase of iPads and tablets to provide digital training to the unit.
