An Elliot Lake man is facing several charges after accepting a parcel, which did not belong to him.
East Algoma OPP Constable Phil Young says Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 police went to a business in Elliot Lake to arrest a person on numerous outstanding charges.
Young says they received a call on December 30th about a stolen pistol.
He says the complainant reported the parcel was delivered to the wrong address and the person at the incorrect address accepted it anyway.
Young says they talked to the homeowner several times about returning the package, but he refused.
He says a 39-year-old man is facing several charges including escaping lawful custody, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and opening mail not belonging to them among others.
The accused appeared in Blind River bail court yesterday.

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, contrary to section 91(1) of the CC
