Fedeli urging northerners to speak up against Liberal plan to switch to electricity

A Northern Ontario MPP says Ontarians better become vocal if they want to stop the Liberals from switching us from natural gas to electricity. Vic Fedeli of Nipissing says people must tell their MPP’s they oppose the idea. Fedeli says if the Liberals force the switch, the cost will be astronomical because we`ll need many more generating stations to meet the demand, likely costing billions of dollars.

The switch to electric is contained in a Cabinet document and Fedeli says the fact it was leaked suggests not all Liberals like the idea. Fedeli agrees climate change measures are needed, but adds the approach can`t be one that will financially ruin us.
