Huron Shores under a fire ban

The Huron Shores Fire Department is putting the area under a fire ban, citing the dry conditions. The fire department says all open air burning permits are being suspended, and no permits will be renewed until further notice.

However, fires for cooking or heating are still allowed but the fire department says they should never be left alone and should be fully extinguished afterwards.
