Live video now streaming from the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat

The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat is now live streaming video from inside the bear enclosures. The video is giving the public an inside look on what the bears are up to. The webcams are part of a $1.4 million upgrade to the habitat, which included enclosing the lake. That gives the bears a five-hectare space to roam, the largest natural enclosure in the world. The expansion was made possible thanks to funding from the NOHFC, FedNor, and the Town of Cochrane.

The webcams will also give staff an opportunity to monitor and collect data on the bears behaviour, in order to better tailor their care better. Go to the Polar Bear Habitat website for the video stream.
