The Annual Poppy Campaign is underway across Canada.
Members and supporters of the Royal Canadian Legions across the country are now out selling poppies.
The funds raised go towards supporting local veterans and supporting the wider community.
This year is a special one with the national organization marking its 100th anniversary.
Meanwhile, Nickel Belt MPP Frances Gelinas took part in the unveiling of a special poppy display in Sudbury this weekend.
Gelinas says local volunteer Helen Bromley initiated a project of 20,000 knitted poppy display on the Bridge of Nations in Sudbury.
She says around 300 community volunteers, local students (including from Sudbury Secondary School), and members of organizations and Royal Canadian Legion (supported by United Way Centraide North East Ontario) helped knit, crochet, and sew the handmade poppies.
Gelinas adds the display is a community-led tribute ahead of Remembrance Day to honor Canadian veterans, active service members, and their families.
