Fatal collision on Manitoulin Island

One person has been pronounced deceased following a two-vehicle collision yesterday.
OPP Constable Berkley Parisien says yesterday morning shortly after nine a.m., officers investigated a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle pulling a trailer on Highway 6 near White’s Point Road in the Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands (NEMI) Township.
She says a 72-year-old man from Thunder Bay was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
She adds Highway 6 remained closed were several hours with traffic being diverted to another route.
The investigation remains ongoing.
