The MPP for Nickel Belt may ask for an inquest into nursing home deaths over the past 15 years. France Gelinas will ask for the inquest if the province doesn`t investigate the deaths. Gelinas is making the demand after a report shows 13 people died in long-term care homes as a result of homicides over the past two years. Gelinas, who is the NDP`s health critic, says the findings are disgusting and scathing. Gelinas believes all the deaths were preventable and adds the way to prevent future homicides is more hands-on care in nursing homes.
