On September 6th, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the East Algoma OPP responded to a marine call on the Mississagi River.
Constable Bev Gauthier says two individuals were in an aluminum boat when it overturned adding while one person was recovered safely, the second was not found.
She says after an extensive search, two days later, on September 8th, 2025, the missing person from Blind River was recovered from the river.
Gauthier adds the investigation is ongoing.
