Honorary doctorate degree for Manitoulin Island business leader

Laurentian University says four individuals, including a Manitoulin Island business leader, will receive honorary doctorate degrees during its spring convocation ceremonies next week.
Dawn Madahbee Leach of Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation on Manitoulin Island is to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Laws.
Madahbee Leach not only served on band council, but she has also headed up the Waubetek Business Development Corporation as its general manager since 1988.
Under her leadership, Waubetek has invested more than $160 million in nearly 4,000 Aboriginal businesses who experience a business success rate of 94 per cent.
Madahbee Leach studied at York University and Laurentian University where she earned a degree in Political Science with a minor in Law.
Luciano Galasso, Kristan Straub, and Thomas R. Greco are the other three recipients.
