MP Hughes says tariffs must be met with appropriate countermeasures

The MP for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing says U.S. President Donald Trump’s implementation of tariffs on steel and aluminum is a senseless decision
Carol Hughes says the tariffs are going to hurt Canadians and must be met with retaliation.
She says workers at Algoma Steel know how important our integrated economies are, and the federal government must respond immediately by protecting the workers and matching dollar-for dollar tariffs of our own all while ensuring that all Canadian procurement uses Canadian-made steel and aluminum.
Hughes says Canadians are united and strong, and we will not let anyone threaten our economy, our values, or our sovereignty.
