The Ontario Federation of Labour says Sudbury`s police chief has to ensure his people carry out a criminal investigation into last month`s mining death at a Glencore operation. Richard Pigeau was working at the Nickel Rim South Mine on October 20th when he was hit by equipment and died. The OFL wants to know if Pigeau`s death was the result of someone cutting corners or if it was really a freak accident. The labour group`s president, Sid Ryan, says only a criminal investigation by police will determine this. Police in Sudbury have been investigating the death as well as the Ministry of Labour.
