There is an organization in town that continues where the “minor” leagues have left off.
Espanola High School fits that bill and the Espanola Lions Club presented the school’s athletic department with $12,800 from their Catch the Ace Campaign.
The funds will be used to cover some of the expenses to run extra-curricular teams and clubs. Uniforms, exhibition tournament fees, and costs for medals, banners and awards are necessary to run the program, so the money will also assist students in need.
When teams or individuals advance to NOSSA or OFSSA, this money will help offset the cost of travel, meals, and accommodation.
