If hockey is your thing, then you will want to take in some home opener games this weekend in our local area.
The Espanola Paper Kings will drop the puck against the Soo Eagles this Friday night with the puck drop at 7:30 pm at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
The Blind River Beavers home opener is this Saturday at 7 pm versus the Hearst Lumber Jacks at 7 pm at the Blind River Recreation Complex.
And the Elliot Lake Vikings will kick off their season in Powassan against the Voodoos at 7 pm.
The Centennial Arena has yet to reopen since it is still undergoing repairs, so the Vikings will be playing home games in Blind River or Massey in the short term.
