Norm Miller, the Tory MPP for Parry Sound – Muskoka, wants the Liberals to explain if the sale of Hydro One means higher electricity rates. Miller, who is the P. C. critic for northern development, says so far the Liberals are mum on the issue. Miller says high power rates forced Xstrata Copper out of Timmins along with its 670 jobs. In 2010 the mining company moved to Quebec which has cheap electricity. Miller is worried that the sale of the utility could make power even more expensive in Northern Ontario.
