Police search for man who escaped from Sudbury jail

As of this morning, a man wanted in connection with three homicides, Joel Roy remains at large and Greater Sudbury Police Service is following up on several tips they have received from the public over the last 24 hours.

They are asking the public to continue to call in their tips to GSPS or Crimestoppers.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 33-year-old Joel Roy who escaped the custody of the Sudbury District Jail late last week.

Joel Roy is described as being 5’6” tall around 150LBS, with a medium build, light brown, shoulder length hair ( hair may be tied back in a ponytail), and green eyes with a scar on his right cheek and tattoos on his chest and right forearm.

Police do not know what clothing he was wearing at the time of his escape.

Roy was in custody in relation to three homicides, so police stress do not approach him, but rather call your closest police service immediately.
