Indigenous Ingenuity travelling exhibition coming to Serpent River First Nation

Indigenous Ingenuity: Timeless Inventions (Anishinaabewin Maamninendimowin: Pane Gii-Bite), a unique exhibition, will be coming to Serpent River First Nation next week.

Science North’s Nick Ryma says the exhibit is being presented by Indigenous Tourism Ontario and Science North from March 29th until April 15th.

He adds the exhibition is a novel mix of science and culture intended to stir a sense of pride among First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities with Serpent River being one of 20 communities in Northern Ontario hosting the show.

Ryma says the interactive show will be presented at no charge at the Serpent River Lifestyle Centre, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, seven days a week.

He adds the exhibition will travel across the north over the next two years.

The Indigenous Ingenuity: Timeless Inventions travelling exhibition is proudly supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario, and the Government of Canada.  For more information about the Indigenous Ingenuity tour and upcoming stops on its tour, visit www.sciencenorth.ca/indigenous-ingenuity.
