NOJHL announces Cubs – Paper Kings playoff schedule

The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday the game schedule for its upcoming West Division semifinal meeting between the Greater Sudbury Cubs and the Espanola Paper Kings.

With national curling events taking over Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex, Greater Sudbury will be hosting their home games in the best-of-seven affair at T.M. Davies Community Centre & Arena in nearby Lively.

Game 1 will go Thursday, March 23 in a 7:30 p.m. start, which will be followed with Game 2 the next night, back at T.M. Davies, with the same start time.

From there, the match-up heads to Espanola’s Regional Recreation Complex on Sunday March 26 (7 p.m.) and Monday, March 27 (7:30 p.m.) for the next two meetings.

The Cubs will host Game 5, if necessary, on Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Lively.

Should a Game 6 be required, the Paper Kings will be the home team on Friday, March 31, with the opening faceoff set for 7:30 p.m.

If the series goes the distance, Greater Sudbury will host it on Sunday, April 2 with a 2:30 p.m. matinee at T.M. Davies Arena.

The winner will move on to meet the survivor of the league’s other West series between the Blind River Beavers and the Soo Thunderbirds.

Additional playoff series schedules will be announced by the NOJHL, once finalized.
