Former Rainbow District School Board teacher found guilty of professional misconduct

NOTICE OF HEARING – BARRY DAVID WILLIAMS

The Ontario College of Teachers has found former Rainbow District School Board teacher Barry David Williams guilty of professional misconduct.
A disciplinary hearing for Williams, who was accused of sending inappropriate social media messages of a sexual nature to students in 2019 while employed by the board, was held by the Ontario College of Teachers on December 19th with the findings released yesterday.
The college’s website said Williams was found guilty of professional misconduct and that he has been reprimanded.
Williams’ certification has also been suspended for 22 months, effective January 3rd, 2023.
The site also notes that Williams resigned his certification in November of last year.
The publication does not state the school where Williams was employed when the accusations were made with the school board confirming he is no longer in their employee.
