14th Annual Elliot Lake Ice Fishing Derby

The Elliot Lake Ice Fishing Derby is back.

Economic Manager Steve Antunes says the popular event will return on February 25th after having to cancel through the pandemic.

He says 50% of the purse is the first prize and during its last derby, the winner took home $21,000.

Antunes adds tickets are available through the city’s website or by dropping by the municipal front desk.

There are also prizes for the top 10 fish plus other great door prizes. Enter the First On The Ice bonus draw. For an additional $5, you’ll be entered in a draw to be the first angler on the ice! Better hurry, the bonus draws ends February 18th at 4pm.

Tickets can be purchased online at: elliotlake.ca/icefishingderby or at the Elliot Lake City Hall Front Desk beginning December 19th!

**A valid fishing licence is required to compete if you are between the ages of 18 to 65 and do not have a Status Card. You can purchase a licence online, at Service Ontario or at a local issuing location.
