Radiothon for Salvation Army and toy drive set to go

Sister station, Moose 94.1 FM CKNR in Elliot Lake is teaming up with the Salvation Army and OPP to help two great causes in a radiothon tomorrow.

East Algoma OPP Constable Phil Young will have a cruiser parked in front of the Moose studio to take in toy donations from 8 am to 2 pm.

The Salvation Army has also set a goal of $40,000 to be raised through pledges and donations to help people in the local area.

The Kettle Campaign is also well underway throughout the city.

The public is invited to contribute to the kettles, call in pledges or donate in person at the studio.

The Salvation Army Radiothon is tomorrow, but volunteers are already out in the community for the Kettle Campaign. Volunteers include Joseph Deveau, Karen is volunteering for the second year in a row, she is at Canadian Tire, and Debbie is at No Frills and this is her 25th volunteering for the Salvation Army. Volunteers are very much appreciated and just two hours of your time would be valuable to the cause. Photos provided by Joseph Deveau.
