Laurentian University has completed its restructuring process under the CCAA and has now emerged from bankruptcy which began in February of 2021.
Governors’ Board Chair, Jeff Bangs, says while there is much healing and hard work yet to be done, the institution is emerging stronger with safeguards in place to ensure a sustainable, more transparent, and inclusive future.
He says reforming their governance, improving operations, and heeding the recommendations of the Auditor General will keep them on track and leads to the commitment to respect all the university’s stakeholders as key decisions are made.
The university is now able to form the next strategic plan and implement recommendations all in consultation with stakeholders, emphasizes Bangs.
