Interfor Corporation has announced it has completed the transaction to acquire 100% of the equity interests of EACOM Timber Corporation from an affiliate of Kelso & Company.

Éric Larouche who has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Eastern Operations says the transaction was finalized on Tuesday.

Larouche, who was previously EACOM’s human resources vice-president, will be responsible for Interfor’s manufacturing and forestry operations throughout eastern Canada.

He says the purchase includes the sawmill operation in Nairn Centre.
