Second man charged in theft of parcel

A second Elliot Lake man has been charged in connection with a theft of a parcel.

East Algoma OPP Constable Phil Young says the police arrested a second man in connection with a stolen pistol occurrence, which occurred on December 20th.

He says the complainant reported that a parcel was wrongfully delivered to a different address and the person at that address allegedly accepted the parcel regardless.

Young says on December 29th, police arrested a 39-year-old from Elliot Lake who is now facing several charges including escaping lawful custody, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and opening mail not belonging to them among others.

The second man, Young adds a 43-year-old man from Elliot Lake, was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession obtained through crime, and opening mail not belonging to them.

He says the accused is to appear in Elliot Lake on February 1st.
