Walden Public School is one of five schools under the Rainbow board to receive an Eco-Schools certification. The certificates recognize a school’s ability when it comes to sustainability projects like energy conservation and minimizing waste. Students at Walden were commended for their daily recycling and organic waste collection which helps result in no litter during lunch. Earlier in time Walden was given the Go Green Globe Award from the school board for its environmental initiatives.
