Election candidates finalized for Serpent River First Nation

The candidates’ list has been finalized for the October 30th election of chief and band council for Serpent River First Nation.
Electoral officer, G. Scott Jacobs, says there are three candidates for chief including incumbent Brent Bissaillion, Earl Commanda and Elaine Johnston.
He adds there are 14 candidates running for the six positions of band councillor.
Jacobs says mail-in ballots were sent out on Wednesday and requests will be accepted until October 24th.
He adds in-person voting will take place at the First Nation’s administrative office from 9 am until 8 pm on October 30th.
