Election turnout and mail-in ballots

It looks like the COVID-19 pandemic had little effect on voter turnout in the recent federal election,

Elections Canada says 62 percent of eligible voters cast their ballots.

That’s down from the turnout in 2019 and 2015, but better than that recorded in the other four votes held so far this century.

There were a record number of mail-in ballots counted, about 850-thousand.
