East Algoma OPP seeking rubber/burnout drivers

The East Algoma OPP is Blind River has been receiving numerous traffic and noise complaints of vehicles revving engines loudly and burning rubber/burnouts on the north end of Woodward Avenue and Highway 557 in the Town of Blind River.
OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says the police have found several locations where they have been burn-outs over the last few days
She says the actions are illegal and charges can be laid.
Gauthier adds anyone with information is asked to contact police.
The investigation has revealed burnouts at the intersections of Woodward Avenue and Highway 557 (the Graveyard Hill), and Granary Lake Road and the entrance to Leisure Bay Road, the Highway 557 Blind River Bridge, and the Cataract River Bridge continuing north at the intersection of Highway 557 and Bearhead Lake Road.
These burnout techniques place drivers, passengers, cyclist and pedestrians at risk and drivers may face charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code. Their vehicle could be impounded for 14 days, their driver’s licence suspended and they could be required to attend court.
