Elliot Lake hospital foundation nearing halfway mark in bed campaign

Elliot Lake’s St. Joseph’s Hospital fundraiser to replace beds has almost reached the halfway mark.

Foundation fundraisers chair William Elliott says the campaign is going well thanks to corporate and private donations, and the 50/50 monthly draws.

One such donation, $1,080, came from Renata and Andrew Renouf who raised the money by hosting two garage sales this summer.
Renata says the city has been their home for 10 years, the generosity of people is remarkable, and they are proud to support the hospital.

Elliott adds nearly $162,000 has been raised so far, half the amount needed to replace the 54 beds which are over 15 years old.

Elliot adds all donations are tax-deductible.
