Public Health Sudbury & Districts has issued an advisory to M’Chigeeng Health Services and other health services throughout its jurisdiction in connection to a rise in syphilis cases.
According to the agencies due to a recent increase in diagnosed cases, the alert serves as a reminder of treatment under the Canadian Guidelines on Sexually Transmitted Infections.
According to Public Health, cases have been on the rise within their coverage area with 33 cases each in 2019 and 2020, and 10 cases in the first six months of this year.
Anyone suspecting they may have it is asked to contact either agency for testing.
