It never stops, but an Espanola man enjoys making sure a gathering place in Espanola continues to be a great place for picnickers and fishers alike.
Dennis Lendrum was armed with paintbrushes, stain and volunteers yesterday giving the Black Creek Pier a refreshing look.
Owned by the Espanola Game and Fish Club, last summer, he voluntarily mended picnic tables, cleaned up the site and continues to make improvements to it.
Lendrum received kudos for those efforts with the presentation of the Person of Impact Award in April after being nominated by the local branch of the Northern Credit Union.
With the monetary award from the branch and volunteers, work on the site continues.
He just asks the public to respect the green space and leave it the way the found it, clean and pristine.
