COVID19 outbreak at Health Sciences North
There has been another outbreak of COVID-19 at Health Sciences North.
Public Health Sudbury and Districts says the outbreak, which was reported publicly Friday evening, affects the Fourth Floor in the South Tower.
The agency says it is working on identifying all possible contacts.
There have been three previous outbreaks at the hospital, all in March.
The hospital advises residents to visit the webpage for visitor information.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is reporting 31 new cases of COVD-19 over the last three days, all in the Greater Sudbury area.
Considering resolved cases, as of Sunday evening, there are 102 active cases of the virus in the agency’s jurisdiction.
Health Sciences North now has 40 admitted patients, 22 confirmed and 18 waiting for test results.
Of the 40, there are eight individuals in intensive care.
Algoma Public Health reported six new cases since Friday.
Considering resolved cases, there are 46 active cases in the Algoma District.
Four of the active cases do not reside in the district but are receiving care.
The unit says there are two people in the hospital.
Health workers rally
Health care workers staged what they called a “pop-up protest” at Queens Park yesterday calling for major changes in the way our province is battling COVID-19.
They want the Ford government to introduce ten days of paid sick leave increased to 14 days during a health emergency so those affected by the coronavirus can stay home without fear of losing their pay.
They also say Ontario’s immunization strategy must be changed, with essential workers and those living in COVID-19 hotspots moved to the top of the list.
Premier Doug Ford says he’s working on a plan to support workers who have to take time off due to the virus but hasn’t provided details about what it will contain.
Ontario reported just under four thousand new COVID-19 cases yesterday bringing the seven-day rolling average down again. However, there are now more than 21-hundred people being treated in hospital, 851 of them in intensive care.
Stratford protest
Police in Stratford, Ontario, says charges are likely, following the biggest protest in Ontario so far against COVID-19 restrictions.
More than 600 people, many coming from elsewhere in the province, attended yesterday’s demonstration.
It was organized by a group called “No More Lockdowns Canada.”
Eastern Ontario Independent MPP Randy Hillier and Conservative MP Derek Sloane, both critics of the government’s restrictions, were among the speakers.
Coronavirus in India
The latest wave of COVID-19 continues to overwhelm health care facilities in India.
The country is reporting other 352-thousand new cases, a daily global record.
There were also a record number of deaths at more than 28-hundred.
The Indian government is now requisitioning oxygen supplies from the industry as hospitals run out of supplies.
Soldiers are now escorting the oxygen shipments to make sure they get to their destinations.
