Ontario adds 3,682 new COVID-19 cases

Ontario is reporting under 4,000 new COVID-19 cases for the second time this week.

The province added 3,682 cases Thursday with sixty-nine per cent in the hot spots around the GTHA and Ottawa.

A third wave high of 40 people died over the last day with the death toll in province now at 7,829.

The recovery rate remains steady at 88 per cent.

Test positivity, the percentage of tests coming back positive, is at 7.8 per cent.

Over 54,000 tests were done over the last 24 hours and over 134,000 vaccines were given.

Officials say 2,350 people are in the hospital with a record high 806 in intensive care.
