Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon, the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB), and Our Children, Our Future will not be moving into their new school facilities until September 2021, in time for the start of the upcoming school year.
In a joint release, the boards state the new joint facility will house École catholique La Renaissance, Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School, and daycare.
Construction and final preparation of the new facility were delayed in part by the government’s recent decision to move the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts into a Grey-Lockdown level.
Moving children, students, and staff into the new joint facility on April 19th was considered no longer feasible.
The revised opening will also allow for furnishings to be moved and complete the final inspection process.
