Espanola store will discontinue the use of plastic bags in mid-March

An Espanola grocery store will no longer be providing or selling plastic bags starting later this month.

As of March 18th, FreshCo located in the Espanola Mall will no longer be selling plastic bags and will not be providing paper ones either.

Customers may bring in their reusable grocery bags or totes.

The store also has a box bin but adds there is not an abundant supply.

Canada is banning plastic bags, straws, cutlery, and other single-use items by the end of 2021.
