Public Health Sudbury & Districts updating vaccination program

Public Health Sudbury & Districts are inviting the public to take in a meeting of the board this Thursday.

The agenda includes naming of the new chair, vice-chair, and executive and financial committee members.

Dr. Penny Sutcliffe will also provide an update on the vaccination program for the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts.

The Rainbow District School Board says there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 at Cyril Varney Public School in Sudbury.

The student who tested positive is self-isolating and is being monitored by the agency.

The school remains open for in-person learning, but the Grade 4/5 class has been asked to self-isolate up to and including February 25th.

The agency is reporting six new cases of the virus, including the one at the school, and all in the Greater Sudbury area.

Considering resolved cases, there are 41 active cases within its jurisdiction.

Health Sciences North now have 18 admitted patients, six are COVID-19 positive, the other 12 are awaiting tests results.

Two of the 18 are in intensive care.

Algoma Public Health is reporting 12 active cases with one person in hospital.
