Integrity Commissioner costs are in for Espanola

Investigations by Espanola’s Integrity Commissioner and other investigative fees will see taxpayers paying just over $81,000.

The last year has been a busy one for Integrity Commissioner Robert Swayze, who was called in to investigate several complaints with some sanctions being made.

In the end it is the taxpayers who will pay just over $74,000 to Swayze for that work, and another $7,300 in legal fees to Crawford, Chondon and Partners for representing the town.

Espanola Mayor Jill Beer is the only member of council who had a comment to make about the payments stating it is a substantial amount of money the town has had to pay out for that (process).
