St. Joseph’s Hospital launches fundraiser to replace 54 beds

A fundraiser to replace 54 beds at Elliot Lake’s St. Joseph’s Hospital has been launched by the hospital foundation.

Foundation spokesperson, William Elliot, says the goal is to raise $324,000.

Hospital CEO Peter Ozolins adds the beds being replaced are about 15 years old and cost around 6,000 each.

Elliot adds they are thankful for the success of raising the funds for the CT Scanner, which will be operational in the new year, and appreciates the giving nature of the public in ensuring the highest quality of health care at the facility.

Residents, businesses and organizations can donate online at CanadaHelps.org and ensure the donation is marked as a donation to the Elliot Lake Hospital Foundation. They can also send a cheque to the hospital with the same marking. Elliott said donors can contact him at ELNOS at 705-848-0229 extension 237 or Email: [email protected]. All those donating will receive a charitable receipt which is tax-deductible.
