Blind River museum hosting exhibit commemorating November 11th

An exhibit to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War is part of Remembrance Day ceremonies in Blind River.

Mayor Sally Hagman says the Timber Village Museum is opening an exhibit today, which will mark the sacrifices made by soldiers featuring local history, photos and more.

She says the exhibit will be on display until November 30th.

Hagman adds there will be a brief Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph this year, but wreaths will be placed prior to the ceremony and the public must follow COVID-19 protocols including physical distancing and wearing a mask.

She adds there will be no parade this year, nor gathering inside the Legion following the ceremony.
