Espanola council unanimously approved a motion to have local volunteer Rock Taylor recognized for his long-time volunteerism when it comes to taking care of a local facility.
As per town protocol, Lauren Van Volkenberg submitted the request to the Town of Espanola to have Taylor, a retired teacher who works with several organizations, recognized for his ongoing dedication to maintaining the Pinewood Park rink over the years.
All town department heads reviewed the application submitting a report to the council outlining and unanimously supporting Taylor’s contributions.
Council agreed to have the facility officially named The Rock Taylor Rink with a dedication ceremony planned for later in the season as well as signage installed at the site.
