Espanola has not had any COVID-19 cases, but the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre has done some testing and is also better-prepared thanks to the generosity of the local community.
Communications spokesperson Terri Noble says businesses like Creations by Sky, Giant Tiger, EACOM and Medix College of Healthcare have all donated personal protection equipment, which assists the hospital in being prepared for cases.
Noble says not only have they provided such equipment, but other businesses like FreshCo have also brightened long-term residents’ day by donating ice cream.
She says on behalf of all the staff, patients and residents they acknowledge that every donation is much appreciated in dealing with the pandemic.
