Elliot Lake hosts Volunteer Night

Elliot Lake’s Volunteer Night was an emotional one for its organizer this year.

Darla Hennessey organizes the event every year as a way to give back to the community in saying thank you to many volunteers who help out with various causes.

This year, she acknowledged them personally for providing fundraisers for her one-year-old grandson who needed medical care at Toronto’s Sick Kids.

She says volunteers touch everyone’s lives in one way or another and through tears, acknowledged some 100 volunteers who attended the event on Saturday.
