Paid parking coming to the Blind River District Health Centre

“Keeping healthcare dollars for healthcare.”  That is the message from the Blind River District Health Centre’s Board of Trustees following their decision to move forward with paid parking for its Blind River site.  The motion passed during the regular open meeting of Feb.25th, will see paid parking put in place by the fall of 2014.  Healthcare funding in the province has remained stagnant in recent years, with hospitals receiving minimal or no increases in annual funding- a trend that is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.  With increased costs, healthcare organizations are seeking ways to generate additional revenues and paid parking is typically one of the few options to be considered.  A public information session is planned for Tuesday April 15th at 7pm in the Blind River District Health Centre Classroom.  More information on the new parking system is available for viewing on the website (www.brdhc.on.ca), or in handouts available at the Health Center.
