Highway construction season getting underway

Motorists will have to plan for their travels with the upcoming road construction projects.

The Highway 69 westerly interchange in Sudbury where it meets up with Highway 17 will be rebuilt and the CPR subway and Lauzon Creek areas, also on Highway 17, east of Blind River, will see reconstruction.

There is also work planned on the Sagamok Access Road, south of Massey and the Indian Point and Manitou River bridges on Highway 540 on Manitoulin Island.

The Ontario government is spending $1.3 billion dollars in highway work this year, and of that, $291 million will be used to rebuild and restore 32 highway projects in Northeastern Ontario.
Work is expected to begin within the next couple of weeks.
