Blind River council has given the go ahead to decommission a local baseball park, but there are plans for it to become the base for another local group.
Blind River council acted on the recommendations of its recreation committee to decommission Talbot Park and turn it into green space.
They also agreed to allow the Algoma Paddlers Canoe and Kayaking Club to establish plans for a new home base on the property.
The group has been looking for a new home to store equipment and host meetings since the town took back another piece of property they were using last year.
The name of the park will be retained and signage depicting its history will be installed.
