Missing and murdered Indigenous women are the focus of a two-day conference in Sudbury.
The Looking Ahead Conference will focus on honouring the women and girls that have been lost and to protect those that have not been.
The keynote speaker, Tanya Talaga, is an Anishinaabe Canadian journalist and author.
An investigative reporter for the Toronto Star, her 2017 book; Seven Fallen Feathers: Racism, Death and Hard Truths in a Northern City won the 2018 RBC Taylor Prize for non-fiction and the 2017 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing.
There will also be several workshops and other speakers focusing on various First Nation women’s issues.
