Look for a slight tax increase in Manitoulin and Sudbury district communities when it comes to social services.
The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board has approved its 2019 budget with an increase of just over $1.6 million or 4.48%.
CAO Fern Dominellis says there are increases in Ontario Works and social housing, but the biggest is in paramedic services.
Ontario Works and the social housing budget increase adds up to just over $23,000.
Dominelli says paramedic services has increased by $93,529, due to a 1.25 percent increase.
Member municipalities will have to take their share into account when calculating municipal budgets.
